A cool winter & spring, followed by late season frosts and hail resulting in a low yield of very high quality.
MUNDA (LAND/TERROIR)
Two vineyards 740m above sea level, true Alpine Country,vine age between 20-30 years of weathered basalt with pockets of granite.
HARVEST
Very early morning March 18th 2023.
FERMENTATION
Clone 95 crushed and a gentle air bag press with 100% fermentation in seasoned French Oak barriques, with 100% malolactic fermentation.
AGEING
100% maturation in seasoned French Oak for 8 months. Bottled mid Feb 2024.
AROMA
Aromas of light white stone fruit and white flowers, citrus, beeswax, toasted muesli and nuts, with background exotic spices.
TASTE
Textural and full flavoured with restrained yet complexing oak use, balanced and has a fine acidity that is balanced and gives a focused line to the palate.
CELLARING
7-10 years in the right cellaring conditions.
