VINTAGE 2023
The harvest period was dry and the absence of any climate challenges along with moderate temperatures allowed for gentle ripening and close to ideal conditions.
MUNDA (LAND/TERROIR)
Ancient granite landforms amongst the oldest on the planet concealed beneath the characteristic laterite, sand and limestone composed soils from the coolest sub-region, Walcliffe.
HARVEST
Hand harvested through the cool morning hours of mid-February during the Bunuru season, the season of adolescence, a time of the white flowers.
FERMENTATION
Barrel fermented, combination of new and seasoned French oak barriques.
AGEING
Matured for 9 months on lees in barrel prior blending and a further 3 months maturation in tank.
AROMA
Savoury aromatics- minerals, oatmeal and spice are layered with white peach and citrus floral aromas. Complex and enticing.
TASTE
Flavours of white stone fruit and pear combine with cashew nuts from the oak and a lovely textural mid palate to give complexity. The palate has a line lemon sherbet acid which gives focus and length to the wine.
CELLARING
7-10 years in the right cellaring conditions.
